Daily Hampshire Gazette article about my quilting – March 13, 2020

I live in Northampton, Massachusetts in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. I moved to the area in 2002 after 8 years in New York City. I’m 1 hour and 25 minutes west of Boston. Some states and areas are weird. I grew up in Macon, Georgia and drove and explored the entire state. There are TONS of people who have lived their entire life in Boston and never visited Northampton.

This is a New England college town. Five colleges in fact. UMass-Amherst, Smith College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke, and Amherst College.

This article about my quilting was published on Friday, March 13th in the Hampshire Gazette newspaper.

That’s the day we started social distancing/quarantining. I picked up my sons from school that day, and they knew that their schools were closed for several weeks. It’s now April 28th, and their schools have been canceled for the entire year. I don’t think many folks saw this article given the chaos of that week and that Friday.

Here are the three photos that were published with the story. Photos were taken by Kevin Gutting.
